Very Easy Homemade Vegan Bread

Makes 2 loaves in a kitchen aid mixer



500ml warm water

1 Teaspoon Salt

1 Tablespoon + 1 Teaspoon Sugar

1 Tablespoon + 1 Teaspoon Vegetable shortening

2 Teaspoons Quick Rise Active Yeast

3 + 1/3 Cups All Purpose Flour



  1. Place water in the base of your mixing bowl

  2. Add the rest of your ingredients.

  3. Using the Dough hook, mix until dough in fully combined. Continue for another 5 minutes.

  4. Turn dough on to lightly floured surface, such as a counter.

  5. Lightly cover with dish towel and allow dough to rest for 20 minutes.

  6. Cut Dough in half. Take one half and press the heal of your palm into it, while trying to form a rectangle shape.

  7. Fold dough in half lengthwise, press with heal of palm. For loaf the size of the bread pan. Repeat for other dough half.

  8. Place dough into greased bread pan and cover again with dish towel. Dough will double in size in approx. 1.5 hours.

  9. Pre-heat over to 350F

  10. Place pan in oven and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes rotate pans in over and bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.


Substitute 1 cup of All purpose flour for any other flour of your choosing, such as 12 grain.
